You can use Google Workspace also without redirection of incoming e-mails. Nevertheless, if you want to receive new mail in Gmail and try its potential in practice, it is necessary to do following steps.
WHAT DO YOU NEED?
- Your domain provider’s MX records credentials (in order to determine, where to deliver the mail).
WHAT IS THE PROCESS LIKE?
- If you have access to a domain provider to DNS settings, change MX records yourself, set them to Google servers according to these values:
For example: ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.Name/Host/Alias Time to Live (TTL*) Record Type Priority Value/Answer/Destination Blank or @ 3600 MX 1 ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM Blank or @ 3600 MX 5 ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM Blank or @ 3600 MX 5 ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM Blank or @ 3600 MX 10 ALT3.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM Blank or @ 3600 MX 10 ALT4.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM
If you are not allowed or if you do not want to do it yourself, send a MX records change request to your provider’s support, based on values above.- Propagation of MX records can take up to 72 hours, after that you will be using Gmail as your mailing provider.
