It happens! The customer calls in a panic. Their only Super Admin left the company ages ago, and now they're locked out of the Admin Console—usually right when they need to do something critical.
Don't worry! I have your back. Our mission is to get the rightful owner back in control without compromising security.
? The Golden Rule: What NOT To Do
Before we do anything, remember this: NEVER, ever reset the password of an old admin account and hand it over to the customer. This is a major security breach and a huge no-no!
? Path 1: The "Datová Schránka" (The Speedy Pass)
This is the fastest, easiest, and most preferred method for our Czech customers.
- Tell the Customer: Ask them to send an official request for a new Super Admin account creation via their company's Datová schránka (data box).
- Give Them Our Address: Our data box ID is tqcpbr2.
- Your Internal Action: As soon as they confirm they've sent it, ping Heli or Vladanka. Ask them to keep an eye out for the request and forward it to you the moment it lands.
- Success!: Once you have that official request in hand, you are fully authorized to create a shiny new Super Admin account for the customer. Problem solved!
?️ Path 2: The "Techy Proof" (DNS Record)
This option proves they own the domain by having them make a small change in their website's backend.
- Tell the Customer: Ask them to prove they own the domain by adding a specific TXT record to their DNS settings.
- Give Them the Code: You can provide a unique string, like revolgy2906724983orrevolgy[TicketID].
- The Catch: Be prepared for a bit of hesitation! This often sounds like complicated magic to a non-technical user. Always offer Path 1 first, as it's much more user-friendly.
? The "All Else Fails" Huddle
In the extremely rare case that neither of the options above works (maybe they don't have a data box and have no idea what DNS is), don't try to solve it alone.
Your Action: Huddle up with your support peers, the L3 team, or Vladanka / Heli. Together, we can figure out another way for the customer to prove their ownership.
You've got this! Go save the day.
